Should the fact that “experts” say something be enough to believe it? Of course not. Although people with specialized knowledge often say true things related to their specialty, that doesn’t make them right all the time.
“Expert” is one of those words that is more about “use value” than “truth value”. Specifically, the label of expert is used to convey authority in order to make a case. We should be wary of arguments from authority, because they tend to shut down critical thinking.
Besides, experts rarely speak in one voice.
