Americans, in general and across the income spectrum, have been feeling pretty upbeat about the state of their personal finances and the US economy:
That is…..Americans other than self-identified Democrats:
Interesting. I know a lot of people who rhapsodize about the good ol’ days before Reagan and the Republicans came to town. Yet the last time Democrats and Republicans agreed on substantial issues was right before Reagan got elected: their personal finances and the economy sucked! And they were still pretty much in agreement near the end of Reagan’s first term: things had gotten a lot better!
What I see now is that even though objective indicators (e.g., unemployment levels, wages, household income, GDP) have been moving in the right direction for some time, many Democrats refuse to acknowledge these positive developments.
Putting it out there…something to think about.
